Lovely dessert filled with fresh berries and whipping cream and granulated splenda no calorie sweetener
- 6 egg whites
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar (1 mL)
- 1/2 cup Splenda granular, no calorie artificial sweetener (125 mL)
- 4 tablespoons water (60 mL)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (5 mL)
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch (20 mL)
- 1/2 cup whipping cream (125 mL)
- 1 tablespoon Splenda granular, no calorie artificial sweetener (15 mL)
- fresh berries or chopped fresh fruit
- 1 cup raspberries (250 mL)
- 1/4 cup water (60 mL)

- 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Mom's Apple Squares with Maple Glaze Cake

For the Cake: Preheat oven to 350F
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil (you can substitute any oil, like coconut)
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour (whole wheat pastry flour would substitute well)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3 cups chopped unpeeled apples (Braeburn, Gala, or similar)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Maple Glaze
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 2-3 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup (can use maple extract also)

- 1 14-ounce can sauerkraut with juice
- 1 cup water, if needed
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 – 4 dried bay leaves
- 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley, or 1 – 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon rubbed sage

- 1/2 cup mild salsa
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, diced
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 can green chilies

Simmer 3 cups of water with sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks and a lemon peel in a stainless steel pot for 10 minutes
- 3 cup(s) Red Wine
- 1/4 cup(s) Brandy
- 3 cup(s) Water
- 12 Cloves
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 Lemon Peel
- 1 cup(s) Sugar
- Simmer 3 cups of water with sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks and a lemon peel in a stainless steel pot for 10 minutes. Add wine heated to a 'coffee temperature' then add the brandy.
