- 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of apple cider or apple juice
- 1 (2 to 3-pound) boneless pork roast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons bacon fat
