In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and shortening
- 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup butter-flavored shortening
- 5 cups crisp rice cereal
- 1 package (10 ounces) Milk Duds
- 1 tablespoon water
Skewered Grilled Potatoes

1 Place potatoes and water in 2- quart microwave-safe casserole; cover
- 2 pounds red potatoes, quartered
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup MIRACLE WHIP Salad Dressing
- 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons dried rosemary leaves. crushed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Roasted Cherry Tomatoes

Preheat oven to 500 degrees
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes (yellow or red)
- Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, preferably Sicilian (zingermans.com)
- Fine sea salt and freshly ground pepper

- 1/2 tsp salt

Creamy Carrot and Potato Soup

(Makes 6-8 servings, adapted from Begin by heating the olive oil in a large pot over medium-low heat
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced (about 1 cup)
- 3 russet potatoes (about 1 1/2 pounds)
- 6 large carrots (about 1 pound)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
- 6 cups vegetable broth
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

- 2 envelopes yeast
- 1 t. sugar
- 1 c. milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar

- 2 # bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, minced

- 3 cups hot water
- 1/2 cup baking soda

Zucchini Boats

Directions Trim and discard zucchini ends
- 4 large, firm zucchinis, with skin
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup ground almonds
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
