Ingredients

    envelopes yeast

  • 1

    t. sugar

  • 1

    c. milk, scalded and cooled

  • 1/2

    c. butter

  • 1/2

    c. sugar

  • 1

    t. salt

  • 4

    c. flour

  • 3

    eggs, well beaten

  • 2

    # bacon, chopped

  • 1

    onion, minced

Directions

dissolve yeast and 1 t. sugar in 1/4 c. warm water. mix milk, butter and 1/2 c. sugar in bowl. stir in yeast mixture, salt and flour. stir in eggs. knead on floured surface till smooth and elastic. place in greased bowl, turning to coat. let rise, covered in warm place till doubled. cook bacon in skillet till done but not over crisp. stir in onion and brown. remove from heat. punch down dough. preheat oven to 400. roll dough 1/4 inch thick on floured surface. cut into 2-1/2 " circles with glass. place a spoonful of bacon mixture on each dough circle. fold and seal and fold again making a quarter-moon shape. brush with beaten egg. bake 10-15 min. brush with butter
