Crab Quiche

Of all the quiches I prepare this is the only one my wife will eat
- 1 pie crust (9 inch), unbaked
- 1 cup crab meat
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, grated; I prefer cave aged Gruyère
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 5 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- dash nutmeg
- paprika

- Vegetables:
- 1 head broccoli
- 1 head cauliflower
- 2 cucumbers, sliced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Marinate:
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 cup[ finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 teaspoons salt 1 cup milk
- 1 stick butter

- 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 5 medium carrots, peeled and chopped (1 3/4 cups)
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped (1 1/2 cups)
- 4 stalks celery, chopped (1 1/4 cups)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 6 cups low-sodium chicken broth (3 - 15 oz cans)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary, crushed
- 1/4 tsp celery seed, finely crushed*
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups uncooked wide egg noodles
