- 1 T paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried sage, crushed
- 1/2 tsp celery seedsd
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 C apple juice
Vanilla Pound Cake

Position rack in lower third of oven and preheat to 350F
- 3 C all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 sticks (8 oz) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 C sugar
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature, whisked to blend
- 1 C milk, at room temperature
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Teriyaki Steak

Place meat in slow cooker
- 2 lbs boneless steak, cut in 1/8 inch slices
- 1/4 C soy sauce
- 1 20 oz can unsweetened pineapple chunks, drained and 1/4 C juice reserved
- 1 tsp finely grated gingerroot, or 1/4 ground
- 1 T sugar
- 2 T vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 T cornstarch
- 3 T water
- cooked rice
Crunchy Turkey Salad

In a jar with tight-fitting lid, combine the sugar, oil, vinegar, salt, garlic salt adn pepper; shake well
- 1/4 C sugar
- 1/4 C vegetable oil
- 1/4 C cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 5 C cubed cooked turkey, chicken or ham
- 6 C shredded lettuce
- 1 x 8oz can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 2 celery ribbs, sliced
- 2 T sesame seeds, toasted
- 2 T sliced almonds, toasted
- 1 x 3oz can chow mein noodles
Oriental Pasta Carrot Salad

Cook pasta according to directions; drain
- 3 cups rotini pasta, uncooked
- 2 tablespoons peanut or vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1 3/4 cups sliced carrots
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/3 cup sliced celery
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/3 cup ready to use chicken broth
Apple Pan Dowdy

Scrumptious sauced dumplings - are easy to make
- Sauce:
- 2 C all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 C butter
- 2/3 C milk
- sprinkle cinnamon
- 6 apples, peeled and grated
- 6 T granulated sugar

- 1 C brown sugar, packed
- 2 C hot water
- 1 T butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
Penne with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Lemon

Cool the pasta in a large pan of rapidly boiling salted water until al dente
- 8 ounces penne
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 rashers bacon, chopped
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 1/3 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
- 1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted
Chicken Timbales

Preheat oven to 350F. Place 6 custard cups in baking pan
- 1 1/2 C chopped cooked chicken
- 3/4 C shredded cheddar
- 1 1/2 C milk
- 6 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 T dried minced onions
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 3 tsp grated Parmesan
Sauteed Red Cabbage in Red Wine

- 3 T unsalted butter
- 1 large onion, sliced thin
- 1 large head or red cabbage, shredded
- zest of 2 oranges
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 C dry red wine
- 1/2 C red wine vinegar
- coarse kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Golden Maple Pumpkin Pie

- 1/2 C maple syrup
- 1 1/2 C milk
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 T flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 unbaked 11" pie shell, well chilled.
