Spiced Nuts

Quick and easy and oh so good!
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 4 1/2 teaspoons water
- 2 cups nuts (pecans, mixed nuts, or your choice)
Southwestern Chicken Salad Spirals

I made these for a recent party using leftover smoked turkey, and they were a huge success
- 1 (7-oz) jar roasted red bell peppers
- 2 cups chopped cooked chicken (or turkey)
- 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (0.4-oz) envelope Ranch buttermilk dressing mix
- 1 small can chopped ripe olives
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 1 (4.5-oz) can chopped green chiles, drained
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 8 (6-inch) flour tortillas
Simply Elegant Steak and Rice

Cut steak into think strips
- 1 1/2 lbs. tenderized boneless round steak
- 1 1/2 tablespoons oil
- 2 large onions, but in 1/2" slices and separated into rings
- 1 can mushrooms, reserve liquid
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sherry
- 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Best Liver and Onions

Cut liver into 1/2" strips
- 1 pound fresh beef or calf liver, cut about 1/2" thick
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons dry sherry
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Hot rice (optional)
Individual Meat Loaves

Combine first six ingredients in large bowl
- Sauce:
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup soft bread cubes
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion salt
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- dash pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef (or deer)
- 6 sticks (2 1/2" x 1/2" each) cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
Triple Fudge Cake

I got this recipe off a box of Betty Crocker cake mix
- 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 bag (6 oz) chocolate chips
- 1 pkg chocolate fudge cake mix
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup applesauce
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Sauteed Steaks with Spring Onion-Mushroom Sauce

Sprinkle steaks with 3/4 teaspoon of pepper and 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 (4-5 oz) beef tenderloin steaks (3/4 inch thick)
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 2 cups sliced mixed mushrooms, such as shitake, oyster, crimini, button or portobello (if using shitake, remove stems)
- 3 large garlic cloves, minced
- 2/3 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh chives

- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 can chunk pineapple (optional)
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 large carton Cool Whip
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup mini-marshmallows
