Cream butter, shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 7 oz. 7-Up
Red Velvet Cake

Mix red food coloring with cocoa and set aside
- Frosting:
- 2 oz. red food coloring
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 1/4 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon butter flavor (opt)
French Dip Sandwiches

- 1 beef chuck roast (3 pounds) trimmed
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 bay leaf
- 3-4 whole peppercorns

- 2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast or 2 tbls. yeast
- 1/4 cup crisco oil
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg (at room temperature)
- 6 1/2 - 7 c. flour
Lemon Supreme Pie

Line unpricked pastry shell with a double thickness of foil
- CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
- 1 unbaked deep-dish pastry shell (9")
- LEMON FILLING;
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 6 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
- 2/3 cup lemon juice
- 11 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1-1/2 cups whipped topping
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- (you may use reduced fat or fat-free cream cheese and whipped topping)

- 1 teaspoon dried sweet basil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 can (14-16 oz) diced tomatoes with garlic, oregano and basil
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese mix or mozzarella cheese
- Hot cooked pasta of your choice
