Meal-In-One

In saucepan, brown beef; stir to separate meat
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) tomato soup
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (optional)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 can cut green beans, drained
- 1/2 cup cooked carrots
- 1/2 cooked celery
- Dash of pepper
- 6 servings(about 3 cups) mashed potatoes
Curry Dip

In a small bowl, mix well all ingredients except cabbage & vegetables
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp. curry powder
- 3 tbsp. catsup
- 2 tbsp. grated onion
- 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp. bottled red pepper sauce
- 1 purple cabbage hallowed out
- Fresh vegetables- carrot sticks, celery sticks, cauliflower, zucchini , turnips
Bram's Pea Soup

Found this recipe in HAWAII while on vacation
- 1/2 cup dried white beans
- 2 pkg frozen peas
- 4 qts water
- 1 ham bone
- 2 1/2 cups chopped onions
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 3 med. potatoes, pared, cut in half
- 2 carrots, pared
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley
- 1/2 lb. ham, cut into cubes
- 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- BV to taste
- 1 c. tomato sauce lg.
- 1 lb. fully cooked smoked polish sausage, sliced
- salt
- pepper
Raspberry Sauce

In a saucepan, mix 3/4 cup of the raspberries with the jelly and bring to a boil
- This sauce makes something special out of plain cake or vanilla ice cream.
- One 10 oz. package frozen raspberries, thawed
- 1/2 cup currant jelly
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
Asian Grilled Flank Steak Salad

1. Score the flank steak on both sides, across the grain
- For Flank Steak and Marinade:
- 1 flank steak (about 1 1/2 lbs.
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp. peeled, minced fresh ginger
- 3 scallions sliced ( may sub chopped onion
- 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup lime juice
- 2 tbsp. dark sesame oil
- FOR DRESSING: ( to be mixed with remaining 1/2 of marinade)
- 2 tbsp.. vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp. honey
- FOR SALAD:
- 1 oz. Asian rice noodles, or other Asian noodles
- 1 head leaf lettuce, Boston, red or green leaf
- 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup small sweet onion, choppped or sliced into thin rings ( optional)
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes, or two medium sized tomatoes, sliced
- 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1/3 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup dry roasted peanuts, chopped ( can use honey roasted)
Hoecakes

Mix all ingredients well except for frying oil
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup self-rising cornmeal
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup plus 1 tbsp. water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil or bacon grease
- oil or butter for frying
Oatmeal Squares

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup uncooked old-fashioned oats

- 1 t. Heinz 57 Steak sauce

CUBE STEAKS

1. Season the cube steaks on both sides with salt and pepper
- 4 (4 ounce) cube steaks
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil

- 2 lbs. fresh tomatoes
- 1/2-1 tsp. ground red pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tbsp. oil
- 1-2 jalapeno pepper (seeds optional)
- 15-20 leaves cilantro
