In a large heavy pot; cook beef and sausage over medium heat until meat is no longer pink
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 lb pork sausage
- 2 cans kidney beans, rinsed & drained
- 1 jar chunky salsa (24 oz )
- 1 can diced tomatoes, drained (14 oz / 398 ml)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz / 236 ml)
- 1 can mushroom stems & pieces, drained (4 oz / 118 ml)
- 1/2 C each red, yellow & green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp dried thyme
- 1/8 tsp dried marjoram
