Autumn Pumpkin Bread with Pecan Streusel Topping

To make the bread: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Bread:
- 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 (15 oz) can pure pumpkin
- 1 cup water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup firmly packed golden brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans
Twice As Nice Almond Cookies
By june
Prepare cookie mix according to package directions, stirring in extract
- 1 package (15 oz) sugar cookie mix
- 1/2 tsp pure almond extract
- 1 cup chopped sliced almonds
Cranberry Pineapple Punch

Combine first 3 ingredients in a large bowl, cover and chill
- 3 cups cranberry juice
- 1 (46 oz) can pineapple juice
- 1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate, undiluted
- 1 (2 liter) bottle ginger ale, chilled
- Fresh lemon slices
Calico Beans

In a Dutch oven, saute onions, bacon and garlic until onions are tender
- 4 medium onions, halved and sliced
- 5 bacon strips, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp ground mustard
- 2 cans (15 1/4 oz each) lima beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 cans (15 oz each) pork and beans
- 1 can (16 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Jalapeno - Basil Pork Chops

Cook first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring often, 5 minutes or until pepper jelly melts
- 1 (10 oz) jar jalapeno pepper jelly
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 4 (1 inch thick) boneless pork loin chops
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Chicken Broccoli Salad
By june
In a large skillet, place chicken breasts in a single layer
- 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 lbs)
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red onion, diced
- 1 cup crushed peanuts
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp orange marmalade
Chilled Christmas Punch

In a saucepan, bring the water, sugar and cinnamon to a boil; stir until sugar is dissolved
- 2 cups water
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 (46 oz) can pineapple juice, chilled
- 4 cups cranberry-apple juice, chilled
- 1 liter ginger ale, chilled

- 1 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 (16 oz) can chocolate syrup
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 2 tsps vanilla extract

- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1 (12 oz) package semisweet chocolate morsels

- 6 hard-cooked eggs

- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
- Dash hot pepper sauce
