  • 2 c sugar
  • 8 oz pkg chopped dates
  • 2 t vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 lb beef short ribs
  • 26 oz chicken stock
  • 1 c red table wine
  • 1 c water

  • 4 T butter
  • 3 T flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon Grandmas chili powder

  • 1 can 14oz quartered artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 c mayonnaise
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 3/4 t garlic salt
  • 1 c shredded swiss cheese 4oz
  • 1 loaf 20in length baguette French bread, cut into 40 slices
