Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • Generous pinch of dry mustard, salt and ground ginger
  • 2 tblsp. white vinegar
  • 14oz can diced or sliced beets

Preparation

Step 1

Add sugar, cornstarch and seasonings into a heavy bottomed saucepan. Stir until clended. Add vinegar and beets add some juice or water.

Stir over medium heat until it starts to thicken, about 2 minutes. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally about 5 minutes. Add more sugar and vinegar if you wish.
