  • 1 c. margarine (softened)
  • 1 2/4 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. four
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Step 1

Cream together margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift together the dry ingredients and add almond flavoring. Save 1 cup of the mixture and spread the rest in a greased jelly roll pan. Add can of cherry filling to the top of cake mixture. Drop the reserved dough here and there and spread somewhat. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Drizzle top with powdered sugar if desired.
