Ingredients

  • 1 T. garlic paste
  • 1 T. Kosher salt or 1-1/2 tsp. sea salt (or add salt to taste)
  • 8 tablespoons soft unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Pinch of coarse black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Put garlic paste, butter, thyme and pepper in a small bowl. Fold softened butter over and onto the garlic/thyme mixture, mashing it down with the back of a spoon or spatula. Add salt to taste.

Use a sheet of plastic wrap to help shape into a log and wrap well and refrigerate until ready to use. Will keep for a couple of months in the freezer.
