Tomato Pizza Pasta

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium cooking onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 can whole tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Step 1
In large frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Saute onion, garlic and mushrooms for about 3 minutes or until tender. Stir in tomatoes, breaking apart with fork, basil, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for 20-25 minutes or until thickened.
Meanwhile, cook spaghetti as directed on package. Drain. Spoon onto dinner plates. Top with sauce and sprinkle with cheese. The hot tomato sauce will melt the cheese.
