Ingredients

  • popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup of raw kernels)6 cups
  • white granulated sugar 3 cups (670 gr)
  • butter 3 tbsp
  • vanilla extract 1 tsp
  • sea salt flakes + extra for sprinkling 1 tbsp
  • good quality Whiskey 1/4 cup (50 ml)
  • baking soda 1+ 1/2 tsp

Preparation

Step 1

1.Place the sugar, butter, vanilla, sea salt flakes and whiskey into an heavy sauce pan. Stir until the sugar melts, over low heat.
2.Keep stirring until the mixture turn to a caramel color and bubbles a little bit. Remove from the heat and had baking soda, stirring continuously.
3.Place the popcorn into a large bowl. Pour the caramel sauce all over and gently mix with a spatula.
4.Spread the caramel popcorn onto a large baking tray covered with parchment, arranging them on one layer. Sprinkle with sea salt and allow to cool for 2 h, then break into pieces and serve. Enjoy!
