Whiskey and Salted Caramel Popcorn

- popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup of raw kernels)6 cups
- white granulated sugar 3 cups (670 gr)
- butter 3 tbsp
- vanilla extract 1 tsp
- sea salt flakes + extra for sprinkling 1 tbsp
- good quality Whiskey 1/4 cup (50 ml)
- baking soda 1+ 1/2 tsp

1.Place the sugar, butter, vanilla, sea salt flakes and whiskey into an heavy sauce pan. Stir until the sugar melts, over low heat.
2.Keep stirring until the mixture turn to a caramel color and bubbles a little bit. Remove from the heat and had baking soda, stirring continuously.
3.Place the popcorn into a large bowl. Pour the caramel sauce all over and gently mix with a spatula.
4.Spread the caramel popcorn onto a large baking tray covered with parchment, arranging them on one layer. Sprinkle with sea salt and allow to cool for 2 h, then break into pieces and serve. Enjoy!
