Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup pumpkin
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream the shortening and the sugar together, well. Add pumpkin, egg, vanilla; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients.
3. Drop round teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, if desired.
4. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Cool on wire rack; store in covered container to keep soft
