Creamy Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients
- 1/2 500g pkg. fettuccine
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 3 leeks (white part only), chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne
- 340g. pkg. fresh or frozen peeled medium raw shrimp

Preparation
Step 1
Cook pasta according to package instructions.
Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add leeks and garlic. Cook until leeks are tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. While stirring, gradually add wine, then milk, salt and cayenne. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens, about 3 - 5 minutes. Stir in shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink, about 4 minutes. Drain pasta and add to sauce, stirring until mixed. Serve immediately
