Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1/2 t. salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk/sour milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries
- Powdered Sugar Icing

Step 1
In a mixing bowl thoroughly stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large mixer bowl beat together sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla till light and fluffy. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to beaten mixture. Beat just till blended after each addition. Fold in pecans and cherries. Turn batter into a lightly greased loaf pan. Bake in a 350 oven for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool. If desired, glaze with Powdered Sugar Icing. Makes 1 loaf.
