- 2 VIDALIA ONIONS
- 2 CUPS BUTTERMILK
- 1 CUP WATER
- 2 CUPS WHITE CORNMEAL
- 2 CUPS FINE CRACKER CRUMBS
- 2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

Step 1
1. SLICE THE ONION 1/2 INCH THICK AND USE ONLY THE LARGER RINGS.
2. IN A LARGE BOWL, COMBINE THE BUTTERMILK AND WATER
3. IN A SEPARATE BOWL, COMBINE THE CORNMEAL AND CRACKER CRUMBS
4. PUT THE FLOUR IN ANOTHER SEPARATE BOWL
5. TAKE EACH RING AND COAT IT WITH THE FLOUR, THEN WITH THE BUTTERMILK, AND THEN WITH THE CORNMEAL MIXTURE.
6. HEAT THE OIL TO 425 CAREFULLY DROP EACH RING INTO THE HOT OIL AND FRY UNTIL GOLDEN.
7. DRAIN ON PAPER TOWELS.
