Ingredients

  • 2

    cups sugar

  • cup water

  • ½

    cup light corn syrup

  • 2

    egg whites, slightly beaten

  • 1

    tsp vanilla

  • dash of salt

Directions

1. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/3 cup of water. Cook at 240F until syrup is a soft ball. 2. Cook remaining sugar and water with corn syrup at 254F or until second syrup is a hard ball. 3. Cool first syrup slightly. Add syrup slowly to egg whites, beating constantly, about 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture loses its gloss. 4. Add the second syrup slowly to the above mixture, beating constantly, about 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture loses its gloss. Add vanilla and salt and mix. 4 Using a tablespoon, spoon mixture onto a greased cookie sheet. Allow to set and serve.
