Ingredients
- 3 medium-size ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons dark rum (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Cut bananas in half crosswise; cut halves in half lengthwise.
Melt butter in a large skillet; stir in brown sugar and corn syrup.
Bring butter mixture to a boil over medium heat; stir in milk.
Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and, if desired, rum.
Add bananas, stirring just until bananas begin to soften.
Remove from heat.
Serve immediately.
