Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 cups popped corn
  • 4 cups rice chex
  • 2 cups miniature pretzels
  • 1 cup pecan halves

Preparation

Step 1

Combine popcorn, Chex, pretzels and pecans in a brown paper shopping bag.

Combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt in a microwave-safe dish. Bring to a boil, then cook on high for 2 minutes.

Remove from microwave and stir in the baking soda, the mixture will become foamy. Pour into brown bag over popcorn mixture. Close bag and shake several times to mix.

Cook in bag on high in microwave for 1 minutes. Remove and shake bag. Cook another 1 minute and remove and shake bag. Cook another 1 minute and shake again. Pour into a large pan and let cool.

After mixture has cooled, it will be hard, you will need to crack it up. Place in Ziploc bags after completely cooled so that moisture does not get to it and make is stale.
