Shrimp Batter

  • 1/4 C Flour
  • 1/4 C Cornstarch
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg, separated, room temperature
  • 1/4 C Beer
  • 2 Tsp Melted Butter



Step 1

Combine Flour, Cornstarch, Salt to yolk of Egg beaten. Add Beer and melted Butter. Beat Egg White until stiff but not dry.

Make a smooth paste with 1/2 liquid mixture and all of dry ingredients. Add rest of Liquid ingredients gradually. Fold in Egg Whites.

Dip Shrimp in batter and fry in deep fat at 365 degrees.
