Ingredients

  • 11/2

    cups flour

  • 1

    tsp baking soda

  • 1/2

    tsp salt

  • Stir in: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

  • 2

    tsp lemon rind

  • Cream: 1/2 cup butter

  • Beat in: 1 cup sugar

  • Blend in beating until light & fluffy: 2 eggs

  • Add sifted dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with: 1/2 cup milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake in 350 degree oven for 65-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Drizzle with a mixture of: 1/2 cup sugar 2 Tbsp lemon juice Cool & then remove from pan.
