Both my mom and my mother-in-law made this delicious dessert. It's easy and good.

  • 8 golden delicious apples-peeled, cored and cut in ⅓ inch slices.

  • 1 C. + 3 T. brown sugar

  • 1 C. old fashioned oats

  • 1 C. flour

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • ½ tsp. nutmeg

  • ¾ C. margarine

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 13 X 9 glass pan. Combine apples and 3 T. sugar in a large bowl; toss to coat. Transfer to prepared baking dish. Combine remaining sugar (1 C.), oats, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium sized bowl. Add margarine and rub in with fingertips until pea size clumps form. Sprinkle oat mixture over apples. Bake until apples are tender, about 1 hour. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Yummy!
