Best Slow Cooker Beef Stew

A friend of mine who tried this says it tasted like Grandma made it.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 2 bay leafs
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 packet McCormick's Beef Stew Seasoning
- 1 box frozen peas (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Put flour, salt, pepper and beef into gallon-sized, zippered plastic bag. Shake beef to coat. Remove beef from bag and discard flour mixture. Shake off excess flour from beef. Saute coated beef in olive oil over medium-high heat until browned. Cook in batches, if necessary. Transfer beef to slow cooker. Add chopped onion to same pan and saute until soft. Transfer to slow cooker. Mix beef broth with the Worcestershire sauce and red wine. Pour broth mixture into hot skillet and deglaze, then pour over beef and onions in cooker. Add remaining ingredients to slow cooker. Cover, cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, or on high setting for 4 to 6 hours. If desired, add frozen peas to pot shortly before serving.
