Ingredients

  • 2 c dhopped dates
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 2 t soda >>>>combine, let stand 24 hours.
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 T melted butter
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 beaten egg >>mix into date mixture
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 1/2 t salt >>mix & add to date mixture, stir.
  • Put into sprayed loaf pans (2 8X4")
  • Bake 45 min @ 325.
  • Cool 10 min in pans on wire rack.
  • Remove from pans & cool completely.
