Ingredients
- beef stew meat 1 1/2 pounds
- bell pepper 1 small , chopped (1/2 cup)
- green beans 3/4 cup , cut into 1-inch pieces
- onion 3/4 cup chopped
- barley 2/3 cup uncooked
- corn 2/3 cup fresh whole kernel
- water 1 1/2 cups
- salt 1 teaspoon
- thyme 1 teaspoon chopped fresh , or 1/2 teaspoon dried
- pepper 1/4 teaspoon
- beef broth 3 1/2 cups
- tomatoes 2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans diced with garlic, undrained
- tomato sauce 1 (8-ounce) can

Preparation
Step 1
Mix all ingredients in 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours (or high heat setting 4 to 5 hours) or until vegetables and barley are tender.
