Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup beer
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp - sugar
- 1/2 cup plus 1/2 tsp oil divided
- 2 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 inch thick rings.
- (confectioners sugar, optional)

Step 1
Mix flour and baking powder; set aside. In a medium bowl, blend beer, egg, sugar and 1/2 tsp oil. Stir in flour mixture until smooth.
In large skillet heat remaining half cup oil over medium high heat. Dip apple slices into batter; let excess drip off. Fry about 2 minutes. turning once, until golden brown. With slotted spoon, remove to paper towels to drain. Serve warm sprinkled with confectioners sugar. makes 4 servings
