Ingredients

  • 1 lb peeled canned tomatoes (crushed)
  • 1 tb tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 5-6 fresh basil leaves
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • carrots & celery sticks to cut acidity

Preparation

Step 1

1) Put a skillet on medium heat and add the olive oil. Add the garlic and onion and allow to cook until translucent. Add the tomato paste and the peeled tomatoes. Next add salt and pepper as desired and let simmer for 20 minutes.

2) When almost ready, flavour with basil leaves. Should your sauce taste too tart, adjust by adding a tsp sugar.
