Ingredients
- 1/2 clove cut garlic
- 6 Tbsp butter
- 2 lbs potatoes
- 4 oz Gruyere or Swiss cheese
- 1 cup canned beef bouillon

Preparation
Step 1
Rub a 10" pan with garlic and discard. Smear pan with 1 tsp butter. Slice potatoes 1/8" thick. Layer half the potatoes in the pan. Add salt and pepper, sprinkle with half the cheese, and dot with half the butter. Add the rest of the potatoes, salt, pepper, and cheese, and a lot of butter.
Boil bouillon and pour over potatoes. Bring pan to a simmer on the stove top.
Bake at 425 degrees for an hour or so, until browned.
