Roasted Chickpea Snack
By tinathorn
This is a great, healthy snack to munch on while watching a movie or even a LEAFS playoff game!! If your anything like me and enjoy nibbling on a crunch while enjoying a movie, this is a good alternative to chips or popcorn. Chickpeas also known as Garbanzo beans provide a fat free high quality protein, a good source of iron & fiber. These babies can boost your energy, keep your blood sugar levels in check and helps control the appetite for those watching their weight.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of chickpeas (I used dry ones, soak them over night then boil them until they are soft or you can just use canned ones)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tsp. cumin powder
- 1-2 tsp. sambar powder (the amount is up to you as this is spicy)
- pinch of black pepper
- pink Himalayan salt to taste
