BBQ Beef Sandwiches

Scrumptous melt-in-your-mouth beef and fresh slaw sandwiches will be a big hit at your gathering! If you like, serve them on mini rolls as sliders instead of full-size sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp. Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 pkg. (1.31 oz. ) Sloppy Joes seasoning mix
  • 4 lbs. beef rump roaat
  • 1 cup hickory smoke barbecue sauce, such as
  • Bull's Eye.
  • 3/4 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1 pkg. (16 oz.) coleslaw mix
  • 2 cups packaged shredded carrots
  • 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • 16 egg twists or hamburger rolls

Step 1

*Place onions in bottom of 3 1/2 qt. slow cooker. Mix steak seasoning and 1 1/2 tbsp. of Sloppy Joes seasoning mix; rub over beef. Place on top of onions. In bowl, stir together barbecue sauce, chili sauce, flour and remaining Sloppy Joes seasoning mix until combined; pour over beef.

*Cover: cook on low 10 hours. Remove beef from sauce; let stand until cool enough to handle. Using two forks, shred beef; combine with sauce.

*In a seperate bowl, combine coleslaw mix, carrots, mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. To transport, place beef mixture in shallow disposable foil baking pan; cover with foil. Transfer coleslaw and tomatoes to separate containers. When ready to serve, reheat beef. Serve on rolls with coleslaw and tomatoes.
