Ingredients

  • 2-6 1/2 oz cans of minced clams
  • milk
  • 6 dried potatoes
  • 6 onion,
  • 2-4 slices bacon, cut up
  • white sauce
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/2 c half and half
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In liquid from cans of clams, add milk "to cover" and cook until tender: clams, potatoes, onions, bacon. Meanwhile, make white sauce and melt butter. Stir in flour, cook until bubbly. Stir in milk (1 c) and half and half. Cook until thickened, stirring continually. Add to clam mixture, heat but DON'T boil. Salt and pepper to taste
