Doone’s Clam Chowder ala Ivar’s

  • 2 pieces fried bacon per person, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Ore-Ida frozen hash browns
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 canister Ivar’s clam chowder
  • 1 bottle clam nectar
  • 1 cup extra clams, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • Parsley



Step 1

In a dutch oven,
Fry bacon until crispy
Fry hash browns in butter ~ or bacon fat until brown and crispy, about half an hour
Remove from pan, add more butter (or bacon fat) and fry onion until soft
Put canister of Ivar’s clam chowder in pan and heat up.
Add hash browns, bacon, extra clams and nectar and heat up. Add celery, season with pepper and a little garlic salt. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top and serve.
Serve with soda crackers.
