Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cans (15 oz. size) tomato sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Sugar, to taste
- 1 c. heavy cream
- Grated Parmesan or Romano cheese, to taste
- Fresh basil, chopped

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and cook for a minute, until fragrant.
2. Pour in tomato sauce. Add salt, pepper, and sugar to taste.Cover and cook over low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove from heat and stir in cream. Add cheese to taste, then check seasonings. 4. Stir in pasta and chopped basil and serve immediately. (Thin with pasta water before adding basil, if necessary.)
