Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can pitted sour cherries (save juice)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients. Bake 50 minutes at 350°. Double recipe for 8X13 pan.

Sauce for Cherry Nut Cake

Juice from canned sour cherries
2 Tbsp. corn starch
½ cup sugar

Stir and cook until thickened. Pour over cake.
