quick and easy onion soup

  • 1 med onion
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 T flour
  • 2 c beef broth
  • 1 c white wine
  • salt pepper
  • French bread
  • Swiss cheese



Step 1

Peel and slice very fine onions. Heat butter over med heat and add onions. Stir to cook til slightly carmalized. Don't let it get too dark.

Add flour, stir til onion is coated. Add broth and wine, bring to a boil. lower heat simmer 10 min.

Brown your slices of bread. Place soup into oven proof bowls. Place a slice of toasted bread over the soup, then a slice of cheese.

Bake in oven til cheese is well melted.
