Waffle Grilled Pineapple

Use your waffle maker to transform fresh pineapple into a delicious grilled dessert coated in caramel goodness. Top it with a scoop of ice cream to make it extra special.

- Cooking spray
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon for mild flavor, or more to taste
- 4 slices (1/4 to 1/2-inch thick) pineapple
- Ice cream, for serving (optional)

Step 1
Spray and preheat waffle iron.
Combine sugar and cinnamon in small bowl and mix well. If using canned pineapple, pat dry. Lightly coat as many pineapple slices as will fit in iron on one layer with sugar mixture and place on iron to grill until sugar is caramelized. For fresh pineapple, check after 3 to 4 minutes. For canned pineapple, begin checking after 1 minute. Serve 1 slice topped with ice cream, if desired, or two slices per serving if not pairing with ice
