Easy Bruschetta Baguette slices topped with seasoned tomato and cheese

Ingredients

  • 1/2 of an 8-inch baguette cut into 16 (1/2-inch-thick) slices
  • 1 can (19 fl oz/540 mL) Aylmer Accents Petite Cut Tomatoes with Garlic and Olive Oil, well-drained
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil.
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

PREHEAT broiler.

PLACE baguette slices on baking sheet. Broil, 2 inches from heat, 45 seconds on each side or until lightly toasted on both sides.

COMBINE tomatoes with basil. Spoon evenly onto toast slices; top evenly with cheese.

BROIL 1 minute or until heated through. Serve warm.

Make Ahead:
Toast baguette slices as directed. Cool, then wrap in foil and store at room temperature up to 6 hours. When ready to serve, top with the tomato mixture and broil as directed.
