Rutabaga-Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes

  • 1 lb russet or yukon gold potatoes, whole
  • 1 lb rutabaga
  • 1/2-1 stick butter
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp parsley, chopped
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt & Pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cover potatoes and rutabagas with cold salted water; simmer 45 minutes. Drain, peel and mash with butter. Add milk, and salt & pepper to taste; mash until smooth and fluffy. Brown butter with parsley and nutmeg in a pan, drizzle over mash.
