Ingredients
- Topping:
- 1 c. cooking oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 apples, diced and pared
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 c. milk

Preparation
Step 1
Beat oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla about 3 minutes. Mix together 2 cups flour, salt and soda. Add dry ingredients, beating well after each addition. Stir in apples. Combine nuts and 1 tablespoon flour; stir into batter. Pour into greased and floured 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until done. Cool in pan.
Topping:
Combine ingredients. Bring to boil about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Punch holes in cake with toothpick and spread topping at once over top of cake.
