Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1 garlic clove, halved
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- salt and pepper
- 3 oz Gruyere cheese, grated (1 cup)

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Peel potatoes, place in bowl of water to prevent discoloring. Rub inside of 9x13 inch baking dish with cut sides of garlic. Heat cream, milk, and salt in medium saucepan over medium until bubbles form around edges. Season with pepper, remove from heat. Slice potatoes 1/8 inch thick, transfer to a bowl. Pour warm cream mix over top, mix well. Transfer to prepared dish. push potatoes down, pour rest of cream mix over top. sprinkle with gruyere. Bake on a baking sheet until potatoes are tender, about 1 hour.
