Ingredients

  • 3 large egg yolks, room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 5 Tbsp sifted flour, leveled
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 3 large egg whites, beaten

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks and softened butter with electric mixer.

Add sifted flour, salt, sugar, and lemon juice. Beat until smooth.

Add vanilla extract and half and half. Fold in beaten egg whites.

Ladle into baking cups that have been sprayed with vegetable shortening or greased.


Place cups in a large pan, 9x13 with hot water. The water should come halfway up the side

Bake at 350 for 40 min or until firm.

Serve warm from cups or allow to cool completely. Run a spatula around the rim. Place desserts on a serving plate.

Top with a ripe strawberry or a dollop of whipped cream and fresh mint leaves.
