Pumpkin Cookies

My son Will says the problem with Mom's pumpkin cookies is that it is hard to limit yourself to only seven!
These cookies were given to me by a neighbor when I was in the hospital after having my son in 1990. I ate about 2 dozen!

Ingredients
- Icing:
- 1 c crisco
- 1 c sugar
- 1 c pumpkin
- 1 egg
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 t baking soda
- 2 c flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 T butter
- 4 T milk
- Bring together to boil for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and whisk in:
- 1 c powdered sugar
- 1 t vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix cookie ingredients as you add them in order. Drop by Tblsp on cookie sheet. Bake for 8-11 minutes and then cool.
When making icing be sure not to overcook or icing will become more of a glaze than an icing.
Pour icing over cooled cookies.
