Ingredients

  • 10 cloves
  • 1 three-inch piece ginger, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1 C Asian sesame paste
  • 1/2 C plus 2 T sesame oil
  • 1/2 C Mirin
  • 1/2 t chili paste
  • 1/4 C honey
  • 1/4 C freshly squeezed lime juice, 2 limes
  • 6 T homemade or canned chicken stock
  • course salt
  • 4 ounces rice-stick noodles
  • Scallions, sliced 1/4 in thick, for garnish
  • Freshly chopped cilantro, for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Blend (in food processor) garlic, sesame paste, 1/2 C sesame oil, mirin, chili paste, honey, lime juice and chicken stock - till smooth. Season with salt.

Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil and added noodles. Let simmer till tender (4-5 minutes.) Drain noodles, add remaining sesame oil and toss. Divide noodles amount serving dishes; drizzle with sauce sprinkle with scallions and cilantro and top with sesame-crusted shrimp.
