Ingredients
- Roll Dough:
- 1 Tbsp. yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. hot water
- Let yeast sit in warm water until dissolved. Add 2 c. four, then gradually add remaining ingredients.
- Raise until double in bulk (about 1 hour)
- Filling:
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. diced onions
- 1 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp. sesame or poppy seeds
- 1 tsp. garlic
- 1 tsp. paprika

Preparation
Step 1
Cook all on medium heat in frying pan until onions are clear but not brown. Let cool while bread finishes rising.
Divide dough into three balls and roll into long 1 to 3 inch-wide strips of equal length. Put filling down each section, fold over and pinch tight. Braid.
Let rise about 1/2 hour.
Brush with beaten egg whites. Sprinkle with additional sesame or poppy seeds.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Don't overcook.
