Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 can (28 ounces) tomatoes, diced, with juices
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 can (15 ounces) chili beans, small red beans, or kidney beans, drained and rinsed.

Preparation
Step 1
Cook first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan until meat is browned, stirring until it crumbles; drain off excess fat. Add chili powder and next 8 ingredients, stirring well; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 1 ½ to 2 hours. Add beans, stirring well, and cook until thoroughly heated.
